The No. 2 Georgia Bulldogs have been bulldozing their way through the SEC East. In year three of the Kirby Smart Era, the Bulldogs looking to make it back to the College Football Playoff and the National Title Game. Right now, through five weeks of their season, the Georgia Bulldogs are 5-0 on the season and are 3-0 in the SEC. On Saturday, Smart and Georgia will have another opportunity to get a solid and dominant victory.
The Vanderbilt Commodores, on the other hand, are trying to find life in the SEC East. The Commodores a have struggled their way to a 3-2 record and most recently escaped Tennessee State with a 31-27 win. This comes a couple of weeks after Derek Mason and his team battled No. 6 Notre Dame in an incredibly close matchup. It’s hard to tell exactly who the Commodores are, but signs point to them not being much of a threat for the Georgia Bulldogs
This Saturday, we’re going to find out a bit more about both teams. The Bulldogs and the Commodores will meet Saturday evening towards the end of the Saturday college football slate. While there are other exciting games on at the time and this one may not appear appealing on the surface, there’s an outside chance that the game could be competitive.
For that to happen, Vanderbilt is required to play at the absolute peak of their potential and for Georgia to be looking ahead to their road trip to No. 5 LSU. More than likely, this won’t be the case given the talent difference between these two teams, but it is theoretically possible.
